The Downtown Edmonton Public Library was the scenario where 3 Mexicans of different generations, who have their own ideas and traditions for “Día de los Muertos” prepared traditional sugar skulls in this facility sharing their heritage.
The sugar skulls are now a formalized tradition in Toluca Mexico, with a dedicated museum and the annual “Alfeñique Faire" from the second week of October to the first of November.
Toluca at one point was a common ground for them, this time two of them were removed from their environment and exposed to different surroundings to explore their identity and redefine their craft during the development of the documentary.
